Time Is Fleeting

Autumn doesn’t feel like it used to

The parades just don’t play

Longing for a smaller world

Those days have gone away

I didn’t see it coming

But I damn sure saw it go

We spoke of time everlasting

How were we supposed to know

So sure you hit your mark

When you missed it by a mile

Time is fleeting

Those years in the dark

Saved by a smile

Still time is fleeting

Time is fleeting…

Winter doesn’t feel like it used to

It hits too close to home

Sit me down by the fire

To warm these aching bones

I didn’t see it coming

But I damn sure watch it go

In a time of everlasting

How were we supposed to know

So sure you hit your mark

When you missed it by a mile

Time is fleeting

Time is fleeting

Those years in the dark

Saved by a smile

Still time is fleeting

Time is fleeting…
